As trade shows become more popular, we see an increase in the cost to exhibit at trade shows. Many exhibitors are searching for ways to cut their exhibiting cost. Exhibitors are faced with the decision whether to purchase or whether to rent their next trade show booth

Renting an exhibit can be a decision in itself. You certainly can choose to rent form the show contractor or some exhibit house which may provide you with a standard off the shelf exhibit. There is a drawback to this. The drawback is that your company now looks like every other company at the show. Your company is one of a kind; your exhibit booth should reflect that.

Custom trade show display rentals are a great alternative to the standard renting programs. Now there is no need to purchase a high cost custom exhibit booth. You can get a full customized trade show display which is designed specific for your company. Usually this is unique to competitors. There are many advantages to this process. The main one is that you do not own the booth or the responsibility that come with ownership

Now we find that larger companies are using these ideas of custom rentals. The cost savings are tremendous. No ownership and no responsibility of the booth items simple put is a great money savers 1) no long term storage fees 2) They has custom feel to it giving the company its own unique look.

Another great aspect of renting a customized trade show booth is that a company can now purchase custom components built especially for your company. It can be incorporated in to the custom rental components. This now makes your exhibit booth completely unique in all ways. Others exhibitors are now looking at multi-rental exhibit programs.

Multi-renal programs are great programs where the exhibitor attends more that 5 shows for the year. They do not wish to own the any properties. No purchasing of components other that unique items pertaining to your product. The exhibitor commits to use the booth and or program for 5 or more shows or 3 years. The exhibitor pays no storage fees and no refurbishment fees on items in rental package. I do however recommend that you take a close look at the cost as oppose to purchasing. The cost savings may be close, especially if you wish to store and maintain your purchased exhibit booth.

Leasing your next trade show booth has a major advantage as opposed to purchasing the booth. You do not have to come up with the entire upfront exhibit booth cost. Depending on your lease you will however have to make monthly payment. The tax advantage of this program is great. You are able to write off some or if not all of the cost of the trade show booth. Please speak with your certified tax consultant about this before making this decision. Monthly payments must be made with interest. The booth is your responsibility, all storage and refurbishments will have to be paid by you the exhibitor. Depending on how long your payment terms are you may be ready for a new look with before your payments are up.

Clearly there are many options whether you wish to rent, purchase or lease your next trade show booth. I clearly would explore these options carefully, one may even decide to rent first before you lease or purchase or get into a multi-rental program. Feel the rental process out first.
