Finding The Best Conference Calling Rate?

When it comes to incurring the expense of setting up and using a conference call service, the charges can vary. Most companies that provide these services will vary what they charge based on how large your meeting is and the how long the meeting will last. This can become quite pricey for something like a board meeting or stock analyst meeting which will involve several participants and may last for several hours. In order to take away some of that burden, there are some conference call service companies that are beginning to offer a flat rate for their services. They will charge a certain amount per minute of use no matter how many participants there are, how many bridges are used, and how long the conference call lasts.

In most cases though, that rate is available only without the use of certain services. Other restrictions may apply. For example, some companies require that a reservation be made a certain period of time prior to the call. Failure to make the necessary reservation can mean either the conference is unable to be held, or only a limited number of people can attend.

Another area to be aware is the fact that if a reservation is made for say 100 people but only 50 people call into the conference, some companies will charge a fee for unused lines. So if that is the case it is important to accurately estimate the number of calls expected and make sure that enough notice is given to the attendees. Obviously not every company that advertises discounted conference calling rates is able to deliver on that promise.

So investigation is needed to make sure that the chosen service provider is able to make good on their claims. To find a real discount rate, it is important to review all of the information available about a specific rate. Look for a service provider that offers the least amount of restrictions. Look for a discount available if the number of attendees is expected to surpass a pre-determined amount. Also there should not be a limit on the number of calls that are made into a conference line. This means choosing a reservationless service provider.

Discount conference calling rates don't have to mean limited services. Many companies find that signing a contract with service providers entitles them to a number of services without increasing the flat rate. Companies that get the most benefit from discounted conference calling rates are the companies that use them often.
