Two way radios are a type of transceiver that is capable of transmitting and receiving the content. Unlike a broadcast receiver that only receives content one way, a way radio 2 sends and receives calls both ways. Considered as the advanced version of walkie-talkies, they work somewhat like a telephone, but since they do not require a central network they can be used anywhere.

There are two frequency bands in use for way radio 2; these are the Family Radio Service (FRS) band and the General Mobile Radio Service (GMRS) band. The FRS band is specifically used for short-range communication between 2 way radios. Short range is defined as 2 miles or less. On the other hand, two way radios operating on GMRS transmit at higher power levels. They can transmit over greater distances, almost up to 10 miles under ideal conditions.

There are many good uses for a 2 way radio, but they can come in handy especially on family vacations or outings. Have you ever taken a trip to the mall, an amusement park, or a ski trip and somehow got separated from your companions? A two way radio would have been very helpful to locate one another and it would also be a great means of communication between vehicles when taking more than one car on a road trip.

Today's businesses have also discovered an easy and inexpensive method of keeping in contact with employees and colleagues and organization members. They've added 2 way radios to their communication systems. Thus, there are decreased operational costs, increased productivity, and additional profits.

The two way radio is also randomly used in military applications. In fact, these radios were initially restricted to the police only. In course of time, the two way radios have gotten their access to the public and caught up in popularity very fast.

Two way radios can be used in many places. People in construction sites, restaurants, government offices, hospitals, theater, manufacturing areas, and campuses also witness large-scale use of these 2 way radios. These radios are ideal for use in many outdoor activities as well such as hunting, skiing, driving and biking trips.

However, two way radios cover only a specific area, but the good thing about the radios is that they are much cheaper than their counterparts. Furthermore, they remain active in certain places like dense forests where mobile phones have no network.

It is extremely essential to keep in touch with your family, friends and employees. With a two way radio, you'll be provided with wireless connectivity and you'll be in touch with others even when you are moving from here to there.
