The way you speak to yourself inside of your head has determined the paths that you have chosen to lead you to where you are today. Everybody has different things that they tell themselves when faced with difficult decisions. Remembering what those smart things are that you say to yourself so you can share them with your kids can be hard to do.
Just realizing that you have smart things to say to your kids does help them out any. You need to actually communicate your wisdom with them. To do this, set up a specific time every day that you can share your knowledge with your children.
A great time to provide kids with your knowledge is at the breakfast table. They have to eat and are stuck in that position until they are finished. This gives them time to actually listen to what you are saying.
Coming up with words of wisdom can be tricky, but now that you have the time set that you are going to deliver your knowledge to your children, you have a deadline to meet each day. It is this goal of sharing your knowledge with your kids that will make you come up with some surprisingly great little tid-bits that have helped you out in life.
Share these tid-bits with your kids:
- Before you say anything negative about someone, pretend they are standing beside you.
- The Law will catch you if you break it. Someday, someway, someone will find out and you will go to jail.
- Failure is your friend as long as you learn from it.
Do not worry about making your wisdom sound pretty. As long as your kids get the idea then you are on the right track. The sure fact that they heard the wisdom from you is what makes it stay with them.
To have your kids be desired in the work force, share this knowledge with them:
ALWAYS GIVE THEM AN "ALSO"
One of the best ways to get repeat business is to do more then people ask. If your child is paid to pick cut grass, tell them to cut the grass then wiped down the mower and sweep out the shed when they are done. If they are hired to watch kids, tell them to watch the kids and do the dishes that are in the sink while they are there. They will be in high demand the rest of their life if they do this secret.
