So you are considering getting a psychic reading. If you have never had one before, you are probably very curious and a little nervous. You are not sure what to expect or how best to prepare, and you do not want to get ripped off.

Initially, finding a psychic needs some research and it is important to realise that the first psychic you try might not be the right one for you. You have to be prepared to try different psychics until you find someone you can trust.

You might be lucky and choose the first time a psychic you are comfortable with. It is important to understand that there are differences between psychics both in terms of ability and experience.

Fraud is definitely a problem with the proliferation of psychics, particularly, on the web. There is no such thing as 100% accuracy. No genuine psychic would claim that. Avoid psychics also that have the "High Priestess" energy and create anxiety around your issues and then tell you the only way to sort your problems out to is have readings with them on a regular basis.

If you want a particular type of reading then look for a psychic that specialises in that area. Also realise that psychics have different ways of using their gift. Readings are conducted using different methods from Tarot cards, the I Ching to Rune Stones. Many are good at simply tuning in to where you are at. You need to try and be clear about what you find comfortable.

It is important to realise that once you have decided to go with a particular psychic that you have your part to play in achieving a successful reading. The more your are emotionally open-hearted then the better the psychic will be able sense your energy fields and penetrate into your subconscious.

Psychics are able to help you when you are on a reading by seeing and sensing things which are normally hidden. A reading is interactive. Don't waste your time or theirs by listening in silence testing them out.

A genuine psychic will always try to be honest. The trouble is that some people go onto a reading just wanting the psychic to tell them what they want. The reality is that you may not always like what you hear. If you want your reading to be of real value you must have an open mind. What you want now is not always best for you. A good psychic tries to do what is best for you.
