Although there are many causes of heart attacks, some are even still largely unknown, there are a handful of lifestyle reasons that can contribute to the attack. I present to you my own Ten steps to a heart attack.
10. Smoke. Simply put, smoking is quite harmful to the health of your cardiovascular system, especially your heart. Smoking can clog your arteries, raising your blood pressure in the process. You can double your heart attack risk this way, compared to people who do not smoke.
9. Drink too much, or not enough. One drink a day, amounting to around twelve ounces of beer, five of wine or 1.5 of hard liquor can actually have a protective effect on your heart, but anything more, or less is simply not effective. In fact, if you drink too much, you can be putting your heart in serious risk because alcohol can raise your blood pressure and have other negative effects on your body.
8. Vegetate. If you do not exercise regularly, you cannot reduce stress, reduce cholesterol levels, or heal your body from issues with blood pressure or excess weight. Living a sedentary life without exercise is an excellent way to set your heart up for a heart attack.
7. Get angry. Yes, getting angry is as dangerous as health related causes in the occurence of heart attack. Getting angry frequently and for long periods of time can raise the blood pressure, thus can lead to a heart attack.
6. Losing control of your cholesterol. Eating saturated fats, especially trans saturated fats, consuming too many calories, and eating foods that are not rich in nutrients can cause your cholesterol to go up, which can make you much more likely to have a heart attack in time.
5. Get stressed out. Getting stressed out raises your blood pressure, and leads to heart disease and heart attacks.
4. Lose control of your blood pressure. If your blood pressure gets to be too high, your heart will have to work a lot harder to push blood through, which can cause it to enlarge, which can lead to a serious risk for heart attack later on.
3. Don't take your health serious enough. Simply not spending enough time worrying about your health and wellness can contribute heavily to whether or not you develop heart attack symptoms. It is important that you regularly assess your health and that you pay attention to making healthy choices on a daily basis in order to keep your heart healthy.
2. Over exert yourself. Blood pressure rises when your stress level rises due to over exertion. This may lead to a serious heart attack. Avoid over exerting yourself, especially if you already have other risk factors for heart attacks.
1. Not taking advantage of my unique program. You can get a handle on all of the nine topics mentioned above, and still be at risk for a heart attack. But if you take charge and follow my program, you can significantly reduce your risk of heart attack.
