The only reason you procrastinate is that a part of you doesn't want to do whatever it is you are procrastinating. Tapping is one way to permanently kill that part.
You'll often hear people say they need more motivation to work towards their goal, which is true to an extent. Though I would argue that if you want to do something then you have all the motivation you need. You just need to get rid of the things that are stopping you from taking action.
When I was a student I would often delay starting on my homework. I would seem like too much effort, I wasn't sure if it would be done well, and there were always more interesting things to spend my time doing. I would put it off till the last minute, at which point I'd realise that I would suffer even more stress if I didn't complete the work.
So when people say they would like more motivation to do what they want to do they usually think they need more away-from motivation to compensate for a perceived lack of towards-motivation.
But you can get rid of the negative feelings that stop you going forward in the first place. When I help people get rid of procrastination I help them to identify all their negative beliefs around doing the tasks they have set themselves and tap those beliefs away.
When you think about taking the action that you want to you might find negative thoughts arising. I remember sitting at my desk with my work in front of me, telling myself I didn't know how to start , that I didn't understand the topic and that I'd never get it done.
It's not comfortable to think those thoughts. So to distract yourself from the uncomfortable feelings, you distract yourself from their source, and go off and do something else instead. But of course the work itself isn't really the source of the feelings, the feelings just arise from your own mind thinking the wrong thing.
With EFT you can remove those negative thoughts by releasing the negative feelings associated with them. They won't come up as often and if they do they have less of an impact because they lack that negative emotion.

1. I've created a video Killing Procrastination that takes you through the basic steps. To get the most obvious change, apply it to something you really don't want to do. You might not instantly feel like you are eager to do it, but you should at least find it a little easier. If you are new to Emotional Freedom Technique, the process might seem a bit strange - you might want to watch the introductory video on the front page of the site first.
2. If you want more information on how your limiting beliefs stop you from achieving what you want in life, read my e-book. It explains how you can use EFT to identify and remove negative beliefs that stop you from achieving your goals.
It's amazing how well this technique works. I used to hate tidying my room and doing the washing up, for example. When I tapped away all the negativity around doing those things I actually started to enjoy them!
When I tried this technique with my friend, we tapped away all the negative feelings and beliefs that were stopping him do his taxes. When we had tapped them all and he couldn't think of any more, I asked him if there was anything else he wanted to work on... and he said no, he'd rather go and do his taxes.
It will take persistence, but what's interesting is the knock on affects of working on only a couple of areas at a time. I've found that tapping away negative beliefs and feelings I had around household chores had gotten rid of what was making procrastinate in all other areas of my life.
