Buick Rendezvous was a sports utility vehicle manufactured by General Motors from 2002. There are several problems that are associated with sports utility vehicles, the most prominent among them being the fact that one has to be extremely careful using them ,their seating capacity and height are less and they should be driven only in good road conditions. The Buick Rendezvous was launched as an answer to all these problems.
It was designed in such a way that all the features of a wagon, a luxury automobile and a sports utility vehicle were incorporated in it. It had several innovative features such as, an independent rear suspension system, Versatrack- a four wheel driving system that provides for easy motion even in times of bad weather conditions and a seating capacity of five to seven depending on the need to name some. It was manufactured from the year 2002 to the year 2007.
The 2004 Buick Rendezvous came in CX, CX Plus, CXL, CXL Plus, and Ultra models. It offered a 3350 cc 3.6 L V6 engine delivering 185 horsepower. The Ultra which was launched in 2004 had a 3.6L V6 engine delivering up to 254 hp. It also had a good security system and well designed interiors. All the models had a height of 68.9 inches without considering the roof rack. The rear light was reduced by two inches.
The Buick Rendezvous was originally priced at $26,420 - $29,610 according to the model offered. A satellite radio and dvd entertainment system were offered as options. It had fuel economy of 18-19 mpg on the city roads and 24-26 mpg on highways.
From 2007 the production of Buick Rendezvous stopped and as such the latest Rendezvous model in the current 2009 market of Buick is the 2007 version. Only the CX and CXL trims versions were made available. It had a rear park assist system which could detect obstacles while parking. Only front wheel drive was made possible in these models.
The CXL version had mahogany wheels which was offered as an option in the CX model. The models were priced between the ranges of $25,190 - $28,765.The engine was a 3498 cc 3.5 L V6 offering 195 hp. It has a fuel economy of 19 mpg on city roads and 26 mpg on highways.
Though the production of this vehicle has stopped it still remains a favorite when it comes to the features of spacing ,comfort and a smooth ride. Share on Facebook
